About the Club

A private members club that welcomes members and non member day guests

Carrick Glen CPC is located outside Ashford in County Wicklow, in a private secluded area away from the noise and distractions of daily life. Surrounded by woods to the rear, a view of the sea from the Skeet range and a steep hill in the center, the natural countour of the area lends itself to being one of the most unusual clay pigeon shoots in Ireland.

The club promotes clay pigeon shooting for beginners and professionals alike.

All sporting disciplines can be shot; Skeet, COMPAK and FITASC.

There is a selection of automatic traps laid out for the use of our members and visitors. The Tower and Skeet are open most Sundays . We also run competitions, simulated flushes and simulated grouse drives on given days, see events section or check out our Facebook page for more information.

The property, a disused club (Carrig Sporting Club) which was started in 1997 by a consortium of six enthusiasts, closed down and fell into disrepair after a brief and successful run. The original mirror with the old club name is still over the fireplace.

The property was purchased by the present owners in 2013 with the idea of having a place to shoot privately and within easy access of their homes in Dublin and Wicklow.
Looking at what was left of the old club, it was apparent that the clay pigeon equipment could be refurbished and put back into operation.

With the traps updated and operational, the members decided to share their retreat in the Wicklow mountains with friends.

The founding group comprised of enthusiasts and experienced marksmen with a love of nature and gun sports. They decided that the club should be opened to the public as a fully operational clay pigeon club that would challenge even the best marksman and be equally enjoyable for the amature and friendly for the novice.
