Pattern Board

This is a sheet of steel with a black center "Target" for determining how your shotgun is handling.

Members are welcome to use the board which is located opposite the Skeet course.

The main reasons for using a Patter Board.

  • To learn where your shotgun pellets hit relative to where you “aim”. This is the “Point of Impact” (POI).

  • To see the difference between various choke and ammo combinations

  • To determine the optimum pattern size and density for your shot.

  • If you have made a changes to gun or equipment

  • You are repeatedly not hitting targets that you feel were shure hit.

For information on understanding the pattern results
see Richard Lynches article, Patterning Board Guidelines

You will need to repaint paint the white surface after each shot

LEAD SHOT ONLY, steel will bounce back
